Huge 6kg Karlsruhe West German Pottery Glass Crackle Flower Wall Art Tile Plaque

  
WOW where do I begin? Here we have an outstanding , Karlsruhe Pottery Majolika wall tile plaque. This is such a rare piece and I believe is the largest size made by Karlsruhe, it's huge measuring approximately 19 inches by 15.5 inches, weighing over 6kg!!

The photo's don't do this gorgeous piece justice. This beautiful tile depicts a cactus flower I believe, the colours are spectacular, especially in the light.

It's a pottery tile, with a thick, textured, glassy crackled glaze, it's most unusual. It has the impressed Karlsruhe backstamp along with the pattern number 7162.

I think this was made somewhere in the 1960's or 70's. I believe it was designed by Werner Meschede who worked there up until 1981. This is a superb mid century modern piece of art that would look fantastic on any wall. You will struggle to find another like this. This is one of my favourite items that I have listed for sale!
