LARGE MT. WASHINGTON CORALENE ART GLASS VASE, UNUSUAL COLORATION, c. 1880's

  
This listing is for a beautiful large Mt. Washington Coraline decorated satin glass vase with rare coloration, c. Rare coloration of pink and yellow glass in alternating sections at top shading to clear with white glass interior.

Top edge has crimped ruffled edge and vase has a polished pontil. The vase is decorated with yellow coraline beading covering the entire body of vase in "seaweed" type design.

A wonderful example of a desireable Victorian glass vase with Coraline design. Coraline is a style of decoration where glass beads are applied to the surface, then the piece is reheated to fuse the beads to the surface.

The Coraline beading is in excellent condition with only a very minor amount of beading loss that is only noticed under close inspection (see photos). The vase itself is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. Measures 8 5/8" high with a top opening of 3 7/8", a maximum width of 4 3/4" and base diameter of 2 3/4".
