Loetz TITANIA Silver Overlay Art Glass 4.5 Vase, C. A. C. Prize, c. 1911

  
Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a gorgeous Loetz TITANIA Art Glass petite cabinet vase from the Art Nouveau Period, c. This stunning vase has a beautiful green and orange mottled (marbled) coloration and is encased in an elaborate all-over Sterling Silver overlay Art Nouveau influenced design. The silver upper rim is engraved C. Dutch Pool, 1911, Third Prize Won by A. This vase was awarded as a National Championship prize given by the Dutch Kennel Club in the Netherlands at an annual all breeds dog show. The Certificat d' Aptitude de Championnate C. Award was only given at National shows and the winner had to be chosen by three judges.

Measures 4 1/2" high with a 3 3/4" overall width and a 2 1/4 diameter top. This stunning small vase is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws.

Some Bohemian vases with applied silver decoration were executed in Europe but the majority of the silver overlay work was applied by American Silver Companies to vases acquired directly from the Loetz factory. Only the highest grade silver is malleable enough to be worked on glass making these silver overlaid vases very desirable.
