STUNNING CONTEMPORARY CZECH STUDIO ART GLASS VASE SOMMERSO PAVEL HAVELKA STYLE. EXCEPTIONAL EXAMPLE OF QUALITY CONTEMPORARY CZECH ART GLASS. Presenting an exquisite Czechoslovakian art glass vase masterfully handcrafted by a talented glass artist. This is an unsigned example very much in keeping with the style and quality of Pavel Havelka or Rony Plesl.

The quality of the glass and skill of the artist is evident at first sight. This exceptionally attractive piece has a wonderfully thick and chunky sculptural form which has been spectacularly coloured with a two radiant layers of colour suspended sommerso style within. A layer of radiant yellow forms a halo around a central vibrant cranberry pink core, the two layers blending and combining to create a magnificent range of warm and vibrant sunset tones which radiate throughout the thick glass casing.

A ribbon of rich blue with white edging spirals around the internal sommerso layers, gently decreasing in opacity as it approaches the rim and perfectly following the sleekly curved contours of the internal hollow. The thick glass casing acts like a lens spectacularly magnifying and distorting the internal forms and colours to creating striking optical effects. Four sides of the vessel have been cut to form sliced panels creating faceted faces which magnificently accentuate the distortion of light and colour while beautifully contrasting the curved sommerso layers and spiralling ribbon within. This piece looks magnificent with light illuminating the glass, the bold form appearing to glow from within. This is an exceptionally attractive and fine quality example that has been masterfully crafted and very well finished with a polished top rim and base.

This piece is presented in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, frosting or repairs. There are some small inclusions and encapsulated air bubbles within the glass, a standard part of the handcrafted process but again mentioned for accuracy. This piece has been exceptionally well cared for and presents beautifully.

This exceptionally impressive piece stands approx 255mms tall and measures 113mms in diameter at the top rim. This substantial piece weighs 3.475kgs unpackaged. This stunning piece would make an outstanding addition to any quality Czech art glass collection and a wonderfully artistic feature in any contemporary space.
