We're pleased to offer this wonderful vintage Jade flowering tree. This beautiful piece is composed of pink flowers each with tiny hardstone beads on wires as the center and flower buds in the same colors. Each individually carved jade leaf is wrapped with wires which were gathered together with other wires holding flower petals and wrapped with fine silk string to form the stems and branches of this tree. It resembles a coastal plant with a windswept shape. The little branches are then attached to the trunk of the tree which has been wrapped and colored to represent old wood. Our exceptional Bonsai is mounted in a round celadon pot with relief detail.

The artist took great care in selecting the jade for this fine piece. Each of the hand carved curvy leaves has been carefully smoothed and realistic veining is carved into each leaf. The flower petals appear to be glass but could possibly be hardstone.

Vintage pieces such as this can be somewhat fragile in that the wire and glass can become brittle after years of exposure to the air and chipping can occur. This fine piece has been displayed in an enclosed cabinet and is in excellent condition with very few chipped or missing elements.

We know this fine Jade Bonsai dates from at least the 1980's, probably earlier (some say 50's). This listing is for one Bonsai - we have others available in our other items.

Perfect indoors on the mantle or side table, or even outdoors in a protected space, this wonderful piece will bring a touch of Asia wherever you choose to display it.
