1960s Mid Century Swedish Art Glass Vase By Elme Glasbruk, Carl-Olof Borgarp

  

This stunning mid century Swedish designer art glass vase was made in the 1960s by the factory of Elme Glasbruk and designed by the acclaimed, Carl-Olof Borgarp. The antique of the future, this is a true classic of mid-century art glass design in excellent condition.

The pattern is known as Peacock and features an extraordinary abstract motif around the main body of the piece in a vibrant mixture of yellow and orange. This large model has an extraordinary, sleek bottlenecked shape. Obvious skill, control and artistry are involved in the making process.

The designer, Carl-Olof Borgarp took over Elme Glasbruk in 1962 and made his creations there until the factory closed just 8 years later in 1970. So, this wonderful vase can only date to that short period of production. A truly beautiful, stunning piece of mid-century modern art glass that would compliment any collection or interior. A real interior designers' piece. Any white specs or circles are reflections due to the lighting used to photograph and not white marks or damage.
