Antique circa 1900-20's Arts & Crafts period cobalt blue (Bristol blue) glass vase, is in the form of a 17th century Dutch roemer wine glass with applied low conical foot and lightly knurled applied ring to the top of the stem. This gorgeous piece is applied with two rows of 4 applied oval form prunts (8 in all), which give the vase a very Jugendstil / Secessionist feel. The vase is unmarked but has a nicely ground and polished large pontil mark to the base, as used by firms such as Moser and Thomas Webb of Stourbridge during this time period. Both were known to produce cobalt blue glassware, Moser for the Weiner Werkstatte and designers like Josef Hoffmann and Koloman Moser.
This wonderful rare piece of glassware has old wear to the foot rim conducive with its age and use and is in excellent condition with no damage or repair (please see photos). Diameter 13 cm, 5 inches. Please message us should you have any questions.
