A very rare and sought after Art Nouveau piece by DAUM produced c. Prized by private collectors and museums alike such as the Grand Curtius in Liege and Bavarian National Museum.. Triform shape, internally decorated, overlaid and acid-etched with bats flying above a town skyline, one side with church spire, signed in cameo Daum Nancy with Cross of Lorraine. Overall shape often described as appearing to be owl form, however true intention is of a roosting bat when inverted.
Condition overall very good, rich and vivid mottled yellow/orange colouration especially the blood red bat swarm rising from the landscape/church spire purple grey landscape base. Has been put back together however not fully restored. Would say that although evident, doesn't detract from the overall decorative look as shows very nicely. Please look at images as these form part of the description.
