Elme Glasbruk Mid Century 1960s Swedish Art Glass Vase By Carl-Olof Borgarp

  

This stunning mid century Swedish designer glass vase was made in the 1960s by the factory of Elme Glasbruk and designed by the acclaimed, Carl-Olof Borgarp. A true classic of mid-century art glass design in excellent condition, with the original label.

The pattern is known as Peacock and features an extraordinary abstract motif around the main body of the piece in a vibrant mix of yellow and orange. This is a wonderful bulbous model, made with great skill and control. The designer, Carl-Olof Borgarp took over Elme Glasbruk in 1962 and made his creations there until the factory closed just 8 years later in 1970.

So, this wonderful vase can only date to that short period of production. A truly beautiful piece of mid-century modern art glass that would compliment any collection or interior. A real interior designers' piece.
