Elme Glasbruk Vase Designed by Carl-Olof Borgarp 1960s Mid Century Vintage

  

This stunning mid century Swedish designer glass vase was made in the 1960s by the factory of Elme Glasbruk and designed by the acclaimed, Carl-Olof Borgarp. The antique of the future, this is a true classic of mid-century art glass design in excellent condition. The pattern is known as Peacock and features an extraordinary abstract motif around the main body of the piece in a vibrant mixture of yellow and orange. This model is known as'cat's head' in reference to its extraordinary and rarer design shape, showcasing the skill and control involved in the making process.

The designer, Carl-Olof Borgarp took over Elme Glasbruk in 1962 and made his creations there until the factory closed just 8 years later in 1970. So, this wonderful vase can only date to that short period of production. A truly beautiful piece of mid-century modern art glass that would compliment any collection or interior. A real interior designers' piece.
