Signed Joseph Said & Dated 1977 Mdina Art Glass Sea & Sand Goblet Chalice. This stunning piece is a beautiful 1977 example of the popular classic goblet design by Mdina Glass. Created in the Sea & Sand pattern and signed by the artist, this beautiful piece was inspired by the beaches of Malta. Signed by Joseph Said and dated'1977' the base has a rough snapped off pontil.
With it's deep blue ocean colours, thick tactile glass and large knop stem, this iconic piece of Maltese art glass will make a wonderful addition to any collection or display! Artist Signed & Dated'Mdina glass 1977' on base followed by Joseph Said's signature. 6.25in or 16cm tall, 3.75in or just under 10cm wide at widest point, base is just over 3.25in or just over 9cm wide and the opening has a diameter of 3.25in or 9.Condition is'Used' - Good Overall Condition. Full Condition Report: Very small nibble to surface that feels rough to touch, could be an inclusion as it's not a chip or scratch, I've photographed it though so you can see for yourself! The underside of base where the snapped Pontil is, just beside it is a rough patch of glass that you can see through the base, it's an inclusion from the manufacturing process but you can feel and see it.
Also in the same vain there's a sort of line within the bottom of the stem where it meets the base.
