Fenton Art Glass Mongolian Green Dancing Ladies Large Vase Ca 1934

  
Mongolian green dancing ladies #901 vase, circa 1934 only. The marbling effect is a result of the gatherer not cleaning the excess glass from his punty when he gathers molten glass for a new piece. The difference in temperature of the old glass and the new glass pressed into the mold causes it to have a slag appearance. 8.5" high, 7.5" wide across the top, 4.5 wide base.

CONDITION: has a very small chip on the edge of the base (see photos 9, 10, 11). It is about the width of the pen point used to point it out. It is basically invisible when sitting flat but you be the judge.

There are straw marks as shown on photo 5. "Straw" marks happen as a result of either the mold being cooler than the glass or the glass being cooler than the mold. The straw marks happen where the cooler spot meets the hot glass. They are NOT cracks and are common in handmade glass.

This vase has a great ring to it when dinged. It is in excellent condition, except for the small chip on the base as described. Weighs 2 lbs 6 oz unpackaged. Produced by the Fenton Art Glass Company in Williamstown, WV. Items are packaged with clean bubble wrap, clean peanuts and a proper size box to ensure a safe arrival to your house.
