FRITZ HECKERT ART NOUVEAU GLASS VASE Marked FH. 490/10. 1189

  

The product is a glass vase produced by Fritz Heckert with an Art Nouveau style. It has a multicolor design and is made of glass.

The vase is marked with the brand name FH. Some of the paint has some spots where it's coming off as shown in photos. The vase is marked on the bottom. There is some sticker residue on the bottom.

Heyden was one of the best known Berlin architects of his time. He designed for Heckert from 1875, until his death in 1902.

The designer of the glass pattern is not known. Denotes the glassworks, Fritz Heckert Kunstglas Industrie.

Is the item catalog number. Where,'490' is the glass pattern series in the glass pattern book, and'10' is the specific glass pattern within the 490 series. 1189' is the decoration number.

This and similar decorations appeared on a number of different glass patterns (see the literature references below). Interestingly, this marking lacks the Heyden decoration design succession number. Meaning that, more often than not, Heyden designed for Heckert pieces, in addition to the catalog number, bear'H' for Heyden, plus the consecutive design number.
