A beautiful and substantial vintage Scandinavian art glass vase, designed by renowned Swedish designer Gunnar Nylund for Strömbergshyttan, Sweden, believed to date from the mid-20th century. The classic elongated, tapered form, substantial weight and distinctive oval-shaped opening are characteristic of the B894 design; a. Wonderful example of Scandinavian mid-century glassmaking. The vase measures approximately 26cm in height and weighs1.7kg. Clear glass surrounding a amethyst-purple interior. The underside bears a engraved signature and model reference - Strömberg B894, and a blue-and-gold retailer's label for Emil Palmgren, Helsingborg, established 1891.
