EXCEPTIONALLY LARGE & IMPRESSIVE BODA ARTIST COLLECTION VASE. Presenting a massive vintage Scandinavian art glass vase from the Antikva range designed by the renowned artist Bertil Vallien for the quality glass producer Boda as a part of their limited edition artist collection. This fine example is signed Boda pre dating the formation of Kosta Boda. This magnificent piece is by far the largest Boda Antikva vase we have had the pleasure to offer for sale!

Standing a whopping 10.75 inches tall this wonderfully sculptural piece really makes a statement. This masterfully hand crafted vase has a perfectly balanced clean-lined modernist form and impressive colouration which perfectly displays the unique veined frit surface treatment perfected by Bertil Vallien. Close-packed frits of radiant blue colour the hexagonal shaped body adding a fabulous orange-peel texture and condensing at the shoulder to create a more gritty texture. The gently tapered neck and flared has been coloured with streaks of purple which beautifully compliments the radiant blue body. The body colour was applied as frits of glass to the initial gather and worked into the surface of the glass as the piece was hand blown into shape.

The coloured frits form wonderfully random patterns, beautifully following the sleek contour of the form whilst adding an appealing subtle texture. This technique which was mastered by Vallien, ensures each piece in the series is totally unique. SIZE: This exceptionally impressive piece stands 10.75 inches or 275mms tall and measures 5.75 inches or 145mms in diameter at its widest. WEIGHT: This substantial piece weighs 2.115 kgs unpackaged.

CONDITION: This fine example is presented in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, breaks or repairs. This piece has been very well cared for and presents spectacularly. MARKS: This piece is beautifully signed and numbered to the base with an engraved mark " Boda Artist Col B Vallien 47866". This stunning piece would make an outstanding addition to any Bertil Vallien.
