Fine Satava Art Glass Vase Description and Item Information Up for sale is this fabulous, Richard Satava studio art glass vase. Please excuse the glare in the photos. This piece measures approximately 5 5/8 inches tall, with a maximum diameter of about 4 3/4 inches. It weighs 2 pounds 5.9 ounces, unpacked.

This piece is cased glass. There is a vibrant red poppy design (four flowers in all). The background is dark; when you look closely, you can see that it has a shimmering, glittery iridescence under the clear crystal layer. The rim is blue glass.

The flat base is ground and polished. This will make an impressive addition to a an American studio art glass collection. Identification This piece has engraved markings to its lower side, as shown, R Satava. " It also has engraved numbers which look to say, "1793-90.

The Satava studio of Chico, California was founded by Richard Satava. Condition This vase looks great overall, with no chips or cracks.

There is a subtle and very minor 1/16 inch by 1/8 inch scuff (not rough; just slightly cloudy-looking) to the side of the vase, about halfway down from the top (please see Photo 6, with pen tip pointing at it).
