Steinschönau Schwarztot Bohemian Glass vase, Secessionist (Art Noveau)

  
This exquisite Secessionist or Art Nouveau glass vase by Steinschönau was most probably designed by Adolf Beckert. Produced circa 1915, in clear glass with the rim and stem partially stained and gilded, it is decorated with black enameled shadow painting of various fairytale motifs.

Prior to working at Steinschönau glass where he became a director. In 1909, Beckert was appointed the first and only artistic director at Loetz, which soon declared bankruptcy in 1911. Beckert is best known for his engraved and acid-etched work, often with applications, the bulk of his oeuvre was the enameled gold and black ('Schwarztot') glass that he produced while in Steinschoenau. Steinschönau is now called Kamenický Senov.

The vase is in good antique condition but with a small rim loss (pictured), no further issues. Size: 14 cm high, 13 cm dia More glass items in my store. All white spots are light reflections. The item will first be wrapped in bubble before packing securely in a solid box with lots of peanuts - earthquake proof.
