His pieces are appreciated because they are original, and they are of the highest quality. All of the stock I have is pre 2004 when the Carlo Nason companysadly closed. They have been boxed and in storage since then. As the owner of a large stained glass company in the UK, I could appreciate the quality of the glass. It's the largest collection in the UK and is at least 50% less cost than any other advertised.
Most of the Carlo Nason you see on the Internet came from me. Google photo search or search Carlo Nason Vase. The vases have the manufacturers label, the original Murano box, plus the Nason etched mark on the base. The packaging on some is a little aged. This Item Stunning huge Carlo Nason Contemporary Murano modernist art glass Available in both wide and narrow neck. The vase has the manufacturers label plus the Nason etched mark on the base.
The vase measures 510 mm (20 inches high) x 260 mm at its widest point and is in new condition. The technique most common to themajority of Nason vases is known as Opalina. The vase was produced with thetechnique of processing one or more successive layers of glass of variouscolours. The glazing is a blown molten glass then added on to the main body ofthe vase forming a double glass layer. Biography CarloNason was born in Italy in 1935.His father, VincenzoNason, ran the famous glass company Nason Moretti and opened a second glass company under the name Vincenzo Nason & C in 1941. From an early age, theyoung Nason was trained in the art of glassblowing, learning both the properties of the material and the craft techniques used in glass moulding and decoration. He combined different technical skills to create original and innovative pieces. The company and the height of its growth, operated from an area of six thousand square metres, had about twenty ovens and could produce 15 different colour ways daily.
It had always been run by family members. In its moment of maximum expansion, until 2000, the company had about 80 employees and was one of the largest on the island of Murano. Closed its doors and declared bankruptcy. Please note on lighter coloured vases, the occasional air bubble may be seen, on darker vases these are rarely seen. In indiviual blown glass this is considered a positive attribute against mass produced factory made glass.
