Vintage Italian Style Controlled Bubble Art Glass Vase, 32cm Heavy 3.8kg Blue

  
An unusual and beautiful very large heavy Italian style, clear and blue art glass controlled bubble vase. It has a clear controlled bubbles (bullicante) throughout the multi hued blue body of the vase. Bullicante glass, is a technique that consists of overlaying several layers of air bubbles in a grid pattern within the vitreous wall of the molten glass, this mass is then pulled with the blowpipe which creates a geometric pattern of tiny bubbles.

Very thick walled glass, a really striking centrepiece vase. It looks fantastic back lit, for example on a windowsill. A fine example of late 20th century glassware. Its tall at approx 12.5inches (32cm) and 6.5 inches (17cm) wide.
