Vintage Mid Century Frantisek Zemek Moser Mstizov Uranium Czech Art Glass Vase. This fabulous art glass vase is an early example of Frantisek Zemek's Rhapsody series for Moser Mstizov under Karlovaske. Created in the late 1950s early 1960s it contains Uranium in the Blue Globular Lump, the base, rim, and the Green areas and I think there's also slight Cadmium within the orange areas. I say I think there's Cadmium as the way Zemek has given the glass a sort of reflective mirroring quality means whichever way you view the piece the other colours and therefore other UV Sensitive colours, shine through and sort of mix together.
This quality creates a spectacular play of light and glow in both sunlight or under UV. All this along with its tactile smooth fluid form and large globules of colour as if dripping down the sides of an already organic and molten looking piece make for a truly fabulous piece of early Mid Century Bohemia Glass and a wonderful addition to any vintage home! 15cm in height, 12cm wide at widest point. It is 10cm wide at the rim (at widest point) and the useable opening diameter is 6.5c.
Base is 5.5cm in diameter. Condition is'Used' - Good overall vintage condition with some wear commensurate with age such as a patch of scratches forming a zig zag towards the bottom of the vase along with a couple of more minor scratches to surface and base.
