Vintage Murano Sommerso Beak Jug Vase Red Amber Blue Glass Seguso Flavio Poli

  

Here we have a spectacular Murano Sommerso beak jug /vase! This really is a beautiful, quality piece of glass, it has a really unusual, gorgeous colourway with a red colour glass which has been encased with amber glass which is then encased in an aqua blue glass which is then encased in clear glass - the photos don't do it justice whatsoever. This technique is known as Sommerso, unknown designer but possibly Flavio Poli for Seguso. This is one of the best pieces of Murano I have had and would date from the 50's or 60's.

I've referred to this as a jug/vase as it has that form, it does have an opening but it wouldn't be practical in any way to use as a jug or a vase and is purely a decorative piece. A classy piece, perfect for an interior designer, mid century or modern inspired home or a Murano glass collection.
