Vintage Steuben Art Glass Vase Description and Item Information Up for sale is this vintage Steuben art glass vase. Please excuse the glare in the photos. This shape, 913, is known as a shade vase because the form closely resembles a lamp shade. The piece has the gold aurene iridescent finish. This vase stands approximately 5 1/2 inches tall, and it has a maximum width of about 5 1/4 inches. Unpacked, it weighs 14.1 ounces. Beneath, there is a central ground and polished pontil. This would be a lovely addition to a collection of Carder era Steuben art glass, or to a collection of American art glass in general. Identification The vase has engraved markings beneath, as shown, Steuben Aurene 913. This piece is vintage, but the exact age is not known.

Condition The vase looks very good overall, with no chips or cracks. There are scattered, very small finish wear spots/scuffs to the vertical ribs and other edges; a tiny scratch here or there elsewhere does not detract. The base also has finish wear, as shown. This minor wear is within the realm expected for vintage iridescent glass. To the interior, about an inch down from the rim, there is a small rust stain, which I have not tried to remove.
