Item: Up for your perusal is this fabulous find. This is an incredibly rare and hard to find vase.

Made by Walther & Sohne in the 1930s and produced from many years thereafter. Many of Walther Sohne designs were first produced in the 1930s and continued almost until the company closed. This vase is done in satin blue glass and most likely dates from about 1940 more or less. This Walter & Sohne Schmetterling vase is coveted by Art Deco glass collectors whom it is also known as the Butterfly Vase.

It appeared in a 1935 catalogue. It is unclear when it first came into production or when it ceased being made. Color is a light satin blue acid satin etch while the interior is glossy. Vase features an Art Deco Lady with wings spread that resemble a butterfly.

Made by Walther & Sohne of Germany. I have included a catalog page that features the vase.

The vase is quite solid and heavy. This vase is very sought after and very difficult to find in any condition.

There are numerous colors available. This vase is not perfect, but displays well. Because of the chipping to the base, the price reflects accordingly.

The base has a few chips as well some some roughness and chigger wear. A nice example of Walther Sohne glass. Please contact me with any questions. Size: About 12.25" across x 6.75" wide x 8.75 tall. A nice addition to your Walther glass and Art Deco glass collection.
